Tybee Driftwood / SCAD
This instillation was an investigation into the dichotomy of a polished material on a natural weathered material. The uprooted trees were found on the shore of Tybee Island, GA after a long journey down the Savannah River and ultimately ending up where the river meets the sea. The trees were selected in order to have the single stem trees with a rough burnt looking exterior around the perimeter in order to frame the upside down polished white three stem tree as the center piece. This was a collaborative project with Patrick Cooley and photographed by Nicholas Siebenmorgen.
